Premier League: Manchester City v Liverpool and other Boxing Day fixtures
Liverpool must make sure they are not getting a box of goals at Etihad as they travel to Manchester City on Boxing Day.
Manchester City v Liverpool
Manuel Pellegrini’s men are unstoppable at their home ground and have already scored six against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, four against Newcastle United and Manchester United, three against Swansea City and Everton and seven against Norwich City. Only Hull City managed to keep it two. Liverpool are currently one point adrift City at the top of the table but might fall to the fifth place should they lose on the night. The Reds and The Citizens are the two best scoring teams in the Premier League and have netted more than the last 6 squads in Cardiff, West Brom, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Sunderland. Brendan Rodgers and Manuel Pellegrini have no fresh injury concerns and could field the strongest sides.
Tottenham Hotspur v West Bromwich Albion
The two clubs that have recently faced managerial sackings meet at White Hart Lane. The Spurs already appointed former first-team coach Tim Sherwood as a new manager but The Baggies are still mulling over the candidates. Tottenham still have plenty of injured players in Vertonghen, Kaboul, Townsend, Lennon, Dembele and Sandro, while Paulinho will see out his suspension after the game. West Bromwich Albion have problems in attack as Anelka and Anichebe remain doubtful.
