Premier League Matchday 21 Results: Chelsea 0-1 QPR
Relegation fighters QPR battled to a shock 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge as ex-Blues winger Shaun Wright-Phillips scored the only goal of the game in the dying stages.
Rafa Benitez has made five changes from the side that secured a 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday leaving Cech, Hazard, Cole, Ramires and Mata on the bench with Turnbull, Bertrand, Marin, Moses and Oscar making first-team starts. Despite the fact that QPR have barely troubled their opposition, Chelsea failed to convert their domination into goals due to the lack of creativity in midfield.
The first noteworthy incident of the match proved to be controversial with Marko Marin receiving just a yellow after a terrible tackle on Stephane Mbia. Frank Lampard had a goal disallowed in the 66th minute of the game due to an offside call. Shaun Wright-Phillips scored the winning goal in the 78th minute with a scorcher from 25 yards out.
Queens Park Rangers earned their first victory at the Stamford Bridge in 27 years and just their second of the season to end Chelsea four-game winning run and deal a major blow to the Blues Premier League title hopes. At the moment Chelsea find themselves in the fourth spot with 38 points and a game in the hand. QPR remain at the bottom of the table on goal difference with 13 points.
