Premier League Matchday 21 Results: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Reading

Premier League Matchday 21 Results: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Reading

In-form Tottenham were considered sure-fire favorites to overwhelm bottom-dwellers Reading, and the Spurs have duly delivered another good victory.

Pavel Pogrebnyak gave the away side the lead in the 4th minute with a close-range finish. However Tottenham skipper Michael Dawson scored the equalizer within five minutes with a fine header. Reading coach Brian McDermott instructed his side to drop deep to try and secure the draw. Reading stood firm at the back for a half an hour.

However Emmanuel Adebayor’s header gave the Spurs the lead in the 51st minute while substitute Clint Dempsey rounded off the comfortable win for the home side in the 79th minute. After winning the seventh match of their last nine, Tottenham have leapfrogged Chelsea to claim the third place.

Reading remain in the last-but-one spot in the Premier League table devoid of confidence and hope of staying in the Premier League for one more season.
