Premier League Matchday 23 Preview: Chelsea vs Arsenal, Tottenham vs Man Utd etc.

Two of the most interesting Matchday 23 fixtures are played on Sunday. Arsenal are hoping to take advantage of the Blues’ lamentable home record, while interim Rafa Benitez desperately needs a win to remove the word ‘interim’ from his job title in the London derby. Tottenham are determined to beat the leaders Man Utd for the second time in 2012-2013 Premier League season. The clashes between Swansea and Stoke, Liverpool and Norwich, West Ham and QPR are among the games attracting the attention of the football enthusiasts.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Since Rafa Benitez took charge of Chelsea the Blues have won just two and drew three of their last seven games at the Stamford Bridge. And the fans have voiced their discontent with such a poor result, booing and mocking Rafa Benitez and Fernando Torres at every home game. At the same time Chelsea’s away record is impressive to say the least. The Blues won six of their last seven games away from home. It is likely that the comfortable victory against the bitter rivals Arsenal could silence Benitez’s critics.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

Right midfield area appears to be the weakest Man Utd’s link, as Ashley Young has been losing the ball way too often while Antonio Valencia, who came on as a sub, was apparently in a poor form during the Red Devils’ Sunday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool. Despite putting in decent performance, Nani made a lot of unnecessary mistakes during the Man Utd’s FA Cup third round replay 1-0 win over West Ham. And yet Manchester United have won both games seemingly easy.

Conversely right and left wings look like as strongest Tottenham areas as pacey and Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon are capable to tear the opposition’s defense to threads. Patrice Evra and Rafael should bend every effort to contain rampageous wingers.
