Premier League Matchday 24 fixtures preview: QPR vs Man City

Premier League strugglers Queens Park Rangers face a tough test against second-placed defending champions Man City. The Rangers have suffered humiliating 4-2 FA Cup Fourth round elimination at the hands of third tier MK Dons at the Loftus Road, while Man City battled to a minor 1-0 victory over stubborn Stoke City.

Queens Park Rangers team news:

Ryan Nelsen and Loic Remy are looking to return to the first XI after being rested for the FA Cup clash against MK Dons. The defender Ryan Nelsen is set to take part in his last game for the Rangers as he leaves the London side for the managerial role at MLS side Toronto FC. Several players including Junior Hoilett (hamstring injury) and Bobby Zamora (hip injury) are a doubt, while Andrew Johnson will definitely miss due to the long-term knee injury. Samba Diakite is on duty with Mali national team at the African Nations Cup.

Manchester City team news:

The Citizens are experiencing the defensive crisis with their first-team defenders Vicent Kompany (calf) and Matija Nastasic (knee ligament) sidelined with injuries and Kolo Toure remains on duty at the African Nations Cup along with his brother and key Man City midfielder Yaya Toure. Full-backs Micah Richards and Maicon (both knee) remain out of contention due to the long-term injuries. In such ha way Joleon Lescott who has made just 8 Premier League appearances this season is the only available senior centre-back. Mancini may team up Lescott with 18-year-old rookie Karim Rekik in the centre of Man City defense. Both attacking midfielder Samir Nasri and forward Mario Balotelli have recovered from illness and are prepared to play.
