Premier League results: Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Premier League results: Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Everton produced an impressive defensive performance to hold the Gunners to an important 0-0 away draw.

The clash was a fairly even affair with both teams creating numerous chances in the opening half. Despite Arsenal being more dangerous in the second half, they were denied by excellent defending by Jagielka and Coleman.

Interestingly, before the match Wenger admitted he regrets about rushing Wilshere’s return from injury, and yet England playmaker has started again and yet again he failed to impress. Neither did Walcott, who featured in the starting lineup after recovering from the injury. However Arsenal’s failure to secure victory can be rather explained by poor finishing and fantastic defending from Everton.

The result means Arsenal remain in the third spot, two points ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham, with the Spurs having a game and the Blues – two in hand.
