Premier League results: Arsenal move five points clear after beating Liverpool.

Arsenal produced a commanding performance at The Emirates against Liverpool and won by 2-0.

Arsene Wenger got a boost to his title challenge after beating direct rivals Liverpool courtesy of brilliant goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey in each of the halves. Apart from the goals, Arsenal’s inspirational display was impressive and they can now move on to crucial matches against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in good spirits. Liverpool striking duo Suarez and Sturridge had little support from the midfield and were reduced to limited chances in the game.

Manchester City hit seven past John Ruddy to go fifth in the table. David Silva, Matija Nastasic, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure got on the scoresheet. Joe Hart was rested after being criticized for a blunder against Chelsea last week.

Asmir Begovic’s clearance assisted by strong wind turned into a goal at Britannia Stadium as Southampton were held by Stoke.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur shared points in a goalless draw at Goodison Park after two penalties denied by the referee.

Manchester United took advantage of dismal Fulham defence at Craven Cottage and are just three points adrift from the second-placed Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham now.

Jose Mourinho suffered a blow at St. James Park as Gouffran and Remy scored in the second half to put Newcastle in the top-10.

Cardiff City clinched the Wales derby courtesy of Steven Caulker’s header on 62 minutes.
