Premier League results. Chelsea stun Tottenham to go seven points clear at the top

Chelsea have gone seven points clear at the top of Premier League after a comfortable win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham Hotspur kept Premier League leaders at bay in the first half but disastrous defensive performance after the break saw them capitulate four times and face Younes Kaboul suspension ahead of Arsenal derby next Sunday. Samuel Eto’O opened the scoring after Jan Vertonghen’s howler on 56 minutes. Two minutes later he fell down in the box after a slight contact from Kaboul and Eden Hazard converted the penalty. Demba Ba added a brace late on after successive mistakes from Spurs backs. Tim Sherwood ruled out the chances for a top-four finish in his post-match conference, while Jose Mourinho showed another piece of hypocricy claiming he would prefer to be in Manuel Pellegrini’s shoes with a nine-point gap but three matches in hand and a better goal difference.

Manchester United have not conceded in the last three Premier League matches as they beat West Bromwich 3-0 at Hawthorns. Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck scored for struggling champions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got a crucial win against Fulham in relegation battle as England international Steven Caulker scored a brace.

Jay Rodriguez hit the back of the net at Selhurst Park to give Southampton a narrow win, 10-man Stoke City held Norwich at Carrow Road.
