Premier League results: Manchester City 4-0 Newcastle

An efficient performance from Manchester City’s players saw them confidently overcome a lackluster Newcastle 4-0 at the Etihad stadium.

Man City were dominating possession but have to wait until the 41st minute to open the scoring, when Carlos Tevez converted Clichy’s cross at the far post. Nasri added the second goal with a placed shot from close range several minutes later. Vincent Kompany has marked his return into Man City first XI with a goal, as he has diverted the ball into the back of the net from Barry’s delivery in the 54 minute. Yaya Toure rounded off Man City’s victory with a deflected shot in the 67th minute.

The result saw Manchester City remaining 15 points behind the leaders Manchester United, as the latter secured 1-0 victory over Sunderland. Meanwhile Newcastle find themselves in the 15th place, just three points above the relegation zone.
