Premier League results: Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
Tottenham retained the chances of finishing in top-four after a hard-fought 2-1 win over stubborn Stoke.
N’Zonzi got Stoke City off to a flying start with a fine header from Adam’s cross in the 7th minute of the game. The Spurs equalized 13 minutes later, when Dempsey beat Begovic with a brilliant finish. Charlie Adam was given his marching orders after being shown the second yellow card a minute into the second half. Tottenham were piling on a pressure for the remainder of the game and have finally converted their advantage into goal in the 83rd minute, when Adebayor taped home at the back post from Dempsey’s delivery.
The result saw the Spurs moving into the fourth place two points ahead of Arsenal, who have game in hand.
