Premier League results: Suarez shines again as Liverpool go top
Ahead of Monday clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, Liverpool have got to the the top of the table with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Cardiff City.
Luis Suarez shone yet another time with a brace and assist after striking a record deal with the club last week. He has now scored 19 times in as little as 12 matches for the Reds to put them one point clear ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal. The Gunners, however, could return to the top on Monday night as they take on Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
Emmanuel Adebayor inspired The Spurs for revival with a brace against Southampton at St. Mary’s. Jos Hooiveld’s own goal completed the first 3-goal victory for Tottenham in the season despite efforts from Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert. Tim Sherwood celebrated his first win at the helm of the team and got credit for fielding the out-of-favour Togolese striker.
Manchester City continued their incredible scoring run putting four past reckless Fulham without an injured Sergio Aguero. Manchester United got their fourth straight win in all tournaments but failed to keep another clean sheet after a late offside goal from Carlton Cole. Danny Welbeck, Adnan Januzaj and Ashley Young were on target for The Red Devils. Stunning strikes from Seamus Coleman and Ross Barkley secured a narrow 2-1 win for Everton against Swansea City.
