Premier League results: West Ham 2-2 Man Utd

West Ham delivered an impressive performance to hold Premier Leaguers Manchester United to a 2-2 draw in an entertaining clash at the Boleyn Ground.

Despite Sit Alex Ferguson fielding all his big guns for an away encounter against resilient Hammers, West Ham piled Man Utd on pressure in the opening 15 minutes of the game, forcing mistakes from United’s defenders. Ricardo Vaz Te has broken the deadlock with a close-range diving header after Carroll’s knocked down the ball to the Portuguese from Jarvis’ cross in the 16th minute. The Red Devils have scored an equalizer by courtesy of Valencia’s tap in from Kagawa’s pass just after the half hour mark. The Hammers took the lead again nine minutes into the second half, as Diame fired the ball into the net from just outside of the area following a neat exchange of passes.

Manchester United edged closer to the Premier League title, despite dropping two points against the Hammers. They are sitting comfortable at the top of the table, 13 points clear of their closest rivals with five games to go. West Ham find themselves in the 11th place, five points above the relegation zone.
