Premier League: West Brom surprises again, Arsenal beat the Spurs

The biggest surprise of this season West Brom stunned the country beating Chelsea as the Irish striker Shane Long delivered a brilliant performance for the home side. The forward opened the score in the first half, yet Eden Hazard leveled before the break. In the second half the Baggies player Peter Odemwingie headed home on 50 minutes, and despite the Blues had a number of chances to score, in the end they suffered their second loss of the campaign.

Arsenal and Tottenham produced a superb north London derby with the Gunners coming from a one-goal deficit. The Spurs started aggressively with Emmanuel Adebayor firing home 10 minutes after the kick-off. Later though Adebayor went from zero to hero dangerously challenging Santi Cazorla and Howard Webb sent the forward for an early bath. Per Mertesacker equalized for Arsenal, while Lukas Podolski and then Olivier Giroud gave the team a comfortable lead before the break. In the second half Cazorla and Walcott added two more goals, while Gareth Bale responded only with one, making the final score 5-2.

QPR are still only dreaming about their first win this season after yet another defeat at home to Southampton. Nigel Adkins’s team was much stronger than Rangers, dominating on the field throughout the game. In the first half Rickie Lambert and Jason Puncheon scored for the Saints, while in the second half the Londoners managed to pull one back, but conceded the third goal seven minutes before time. After that dismal performance Queens Park Rangers lie at the bottom of the table with four points and the head coach Mark Hughes is less than step away from leaving the team.
