PSG puts one foot in the next round

PSG grabbed victory in Span creating two moments while the match was controlled by Los Che.

Ezequiel Lavezzi opened the score for the French side in the 10th minute and just before the half time Javier Pastore’s shot beat Vicente Guaita between the legs. PSG showed impressive defensive play and despite giving the game to the Spaniards up until the end of the match were in control of the situation. Rami pulled one back for Valencia in 90th minute and gave a glimmer of hope to Mestalla.

One of the main points of the fixture was a stunning late red card for Zlatan Ibrahimovic who challenged Andres Guardado stomping on the opponent’s right foot. Ibrahimovic will now miss their Champions League last-16 second leg at the Parc des Princes next month.

PSG head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the team for the game, claiming: “We played well and had chances to score more goals,”

“It was a good team performance, but this was just the first leg. There is still the return to come,” underlined the Italian.
