Real Madrid confirm Ancelotti’s appointment

Real Madrid have officially confirmed Carlo Ancelotti will succeed Jose Mourinho in charge of the la Liga giants.

The 54-year-old Italian, who guided AC Milan to Champions League triumph in 2003 and 2007, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, that will keep him at Santiago Bernabeu until 2016.

Ancelotti had spells with Juventus, Parma and Reggiani and led Chelsea to the Premier League-FA Cup double in 2010.

The Italian has been considered favourite to replace Mourinho since May, when he announced that he is willing to leave Parc des Princes after year and a half in charge of PSG.
