Real ready to offload Pepe to fund Bale move

Real Madrid are prepared to sell their hardman Pepe in order to fund Gareth Bales’ switch to Santiago Bernabeu.

Incoming Citizens coach Manuel Pellegrini, who is widely expected to take over Manchester City in the near future, is a long-term admirer of the Portuguese. The Chilean is reportedly keen on landing the defender in a part-exchange deal, which would also see Di Maria moving to the Etihad stadium, with Carlos Tevez going in reverse direction and some cash in addition.

However Real Madrid may be reluctant to follow up their interest in Carlos Tevez, should Luis Suarez be allowed joining LA Liga giants. If the Blancos succeed in persuading City to buy Pepe for cash instead of a swap deal, then they will have necessary amount of money to spend on Welsh wizard Bale.

Real have only £60million at their disposal while their main contenders for the signature of player City, United, Chelsea and PSG are prepared to spend around £80million. Such a situation leaves the Meringues desperate to sell their stars in order to fund the move.

However it is hard to imagine Manchester City paying around £20million for Pepe.
