Rennes' Apam keen on Premier League move

Rennes' Apam keen on Premier League move

Rennes’ defender Onyekachi Apam admitted he would jump at opportunity of joining Premier League club this season, should the formal offer be made.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international has been lined with a move to a host of Premier League clubs in the past however his bad injury history scared off most of the sides interested in securing his services.

Apam joined Rennes from Nice in 2010. His career in France has been marred with injuries: a serious knee damage sidelined him for 18 months during his initial season at Lorient Road stadium. The injury has also limited the number of first-team starts to just 9 in all competitions this season.

Apam recognizes his injury-proneness could be a major stumbling block to seeing his dreams come true. However he hopes he still has enough time in his career to return to his best. He said: “I am injured at the moment but hopefully I can play the next three games. I have always dreamt of playing in England and testing myself against the best strikers in the world. Hopefully I will get that chance in the summer. Rennes is a great club, they had so many injuries this year but they will be fine next season with or without me.”
