Robben: 'I presume my possible hanging up the boots on the peg'

Bayern Munich right winger Arjen Robben said in a statement that he has had instants when he seriously considered to bid farewell to football.

For his 12-year professional career, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid stalwart was plagued by an array of injuries that frazzled him out completely and make him think about retirement.

‘I am bedeviled with the pour of injuries I sustained in the last eight years. That makes me feel blue sometimes. And I admit that I have thought of hanging up my boots many times,’ Robben told NOS. However, his father and the main advisor, Hans Robben, assures that Arjen will return to his duties at Bayern as soon as he is back to full fitness.

For the last eight years the Netherlands international has been affected by injury problems at least once a year, the latest being a hamstring problem he picked up in September in a match against Wolfsburg.
