Rodgers vows to keep Reina

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers has dismissed the rumors linking The Reds first-choice goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a move away from the club.

According to the recent reports Liverpool is looking for a new keeper with Hannover’s goalie Ron-Robert Zieler and Birmingham’s Jack Butland to be considered as most likely candidates to replace the Spaniard in goal.

Rodgers reassured that despite the speculations linking Liverpool with a move for goalkeeper, he is fully satisfied with the current options in goal and does not wish to improve this area. “We have been linked with lots of goalkeepers,” he told to bbc.co.uk. “I have two very good goalkeepers - Pepe Reina and Brad Jones, who is a very loyal and capable number two […] Pepe has taken on board himself to do a lot of work to get in the best possible state he can be in physically and mentally and I am so happy with him”.
