Four days after the clubs played in a draw in Serie A fixture Roma claimed victory in the cup match courtesy of Alessandro Florenzi and Mattia Destro who both scored in the first half. Inter responded with Rodrigo Palacio header. The teams will meet for the second leg on 17 April, facing in the final either Lazio of Juventus that played in a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
