Roma unveiled Rudi Garcia as their new manager

Roma confirmed the appointment of former Lille boss Rudi Garcia as their new manager, with the 49-year-old signing a two-year contract.

Earlier this week Lille revealed they allowed their coach to enter the negotiations with the Serie A club. Yesterday Rudi Garcia has been officially unveiled as their new boss in a deal worth 1.5million euros per year.

Statement on an official Roma web-site read: “A.S. Roma announces that it has reached an agreement with Rudi Garcia, who will become the head coach of the first team. The two year contract will be formalised and deposited in the upcoming days.”

Roma president James Pallotta said: “We are very excited and confident that Rudi Garcia is the right coach for AS Roma. He is a proven winner with a great football mind who we believe fits in perfectly with our vision for the future. We welcome Rudi Garcia to AS Roma.”
