Samba adamant QPR retain top-flight status

Sky Sports reports Queens Park Rangers towering centre-back Chris Samba, who has joined the club for a clubs’ record transfer fee of £12.5 million, is determined the club stays in the Premier League next season.

28-year-old Samba hit the ground running at Loftus Road marking his debut with an excellent defensive display in QPR scoreless draw with Norwich. With 13 games to go, Rangers are currently finding themselves at the bottom of the table, six points adrift of safety.

Samba believes QPR have what it takes to save themselves from relegation. He said “I have seen for myself now we have enough to remain in this league.”

Samba admits he still lacks fitness. “I’d only done five days of training after five weeks out before coming here. This is the English league and it is physical. It was a more intensive style of play than it was in Russia,” – said the defender.
