Santos to bid for AC Milan Robinho

Santos to bid for AC Milan Robinho

Santos are seriously considering the possibility of luring out-of-favor AC Milan forward Robinho back to Brazil.

29-year-old Robinho began his football career at Santos and the transfer reports suggested he could be on his way from San Siro to the Brazilian side in January. However the deal has not materialized, as the clubs failed to reach an agreement on a transfer fee.

It is to be recalled that Robinho has joint Santos on a six-month deal back in 2010, but returned to his then parent club Manchester City, despite Santos being keen on signing him on permanent basis.

Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues revealed he is confident the player returns to his boyhood club this summer. He said: “Santos don’t know what value AC have set, but we should get the answer to that question soon - probably this week. We will work based on what Milan and the player demand. We will then transmit this information to the club’s board, and depending on the value they will decide if signing him is feasible. I believe it is.”
