Santos rejected initial Neymar bid from Barcelona

Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues admitted they rejected an offer from Barcelona for Brazilian wonderkid Neymar.

Rodrigues revealed they are in talks with Barcelona over improved bid and said that Santos are expecting a bid from Real Madrid. He said: “There is no agreement for Neymar, there are talks, I met [Barcelona’s president Sandro] Rosell and [Barcelona’s sporting director] Raul Sanllehi last week. We had a very frank conversation. Talks need to continue because the offer was not good enough. We know Real Madrid will make an offer too.”

He also stressed that it is Neymar, not the club administration who will have a final say in the situation, stating: “Neymar will choose the team he wants, it’s Neymar’s opinion that is important.”
