Schalke Draxler flattered by Real Madrid interest

Highly-rated Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler revealed he is flattered by interest from top European clubs, Real Madrid in particular.

The 19-year-old German international has been linked with a move to several sides after a series of top performances delivered throughout the season. He has made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and setting up another 5.

Real Madrid has been the latest high-profile side to turn their attention to the youngster, and the player himself revealed he relished the prospect of playing for the Spanish giants. Draxler said: “Real Madrid are one of the world’s great clubs, it makes me proud that they like my style of play. I would be a dream to play at Real Madrid. I’ve always said that I would like to play in Spain. Every weekend I try to see the matches involving Madrid and Barcelona. I never miss the Clasicos.”

“Right now I’m with Schalke and I have a contract until 2016. I’m having a very good season and I’m doing very well, I’ve scored eight goals in the Bundesliga and I feel very happy,” he added.
