Scotland’s boss Craig Levein is sacked

Scottish FA has confirmed that Levein is sacked and the head coach of U-21 Billy Stark will be caretaker.

Stark will take the charge of the national team for the friendly match against Luxemburg later this month until a permanent decision will be made.

Such a decision was made because the Scotland national team had been ranked 10 places higher in the FIFA rankings when Levein took care of it in 2009. Today it is on the 56th position. The team need to improve their results in Group A qualifying for the 2014 World Cup and the next qualifier against Wales is in March.
