Borussia Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer revealed team’s priorities for the season

The German international confessed that Shakhtar Donetsk is not “first-choice opponent” for his team in the Champions League, yet assured: “We’ve been in a brilliant form so far in the League and don’t want to spoil the good work against Donetsk.”

Commenting on Borussia domestic title ambitions, the player reveled the team aims only at silver medals, saying: “second place is our priority, if we manage that we’ll be satisfied.”

The defender praised Bayern for their impressive performance in the first half of the season: “Bayern have a 12-point gap start and we’ve seen how they performed in the first half of the season. And ahead of the restart they’ve already been reminded of the need to maintain their focus. They’ll do all they can to remain at the top.”
