Serie A fixtures preview: Parma vs. Pescara

Serie A fixtures preview: Parma vs. Pescara

Pescara celebrated victory only six times this season and stands at the bottom of the table with 21 points, yet the side still have the chances to escape from relegation.

The Dolphins travel to Parma at the weekend with the hope to repeat the result they achieved in November when they won 2-0. That victory was only the third one in the term, though the run of the team turned to be even more disappointing as the delfini failed to win a match this year.

Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani recently changed the manager and appointed ex-Primavera coach Cristian Bucchi, yet early results suggest the tactician is far from saving the club from dropping in a class, though three points in the match against Parma can improve his position.

Roberto Donadoni that leads Parma has always been considered a rather controversial figure in Italian football, but his service helped the team to secure the mid-table position. Parma recorded a 4-1 victory against Torino a few games ago, but the last match before the international break was a defeat to Roma at the Olimpico.

The most troubling loss for Parma is Djamel Mesbah who is sidelined for the game due to injury, while the suspension of Jaime Valdés could force Donadoni to switch to an offensive strategy.

Pescara will play without Vladimír Weiss and Ante Vukušić, while Marco Capuano, Antonio Balzano and Giuseppe Rizzo are also unlikely to help the side in the key battle.
