Serie A results: Juventus win Derby d'Italia
Juventus made another confident step to their second successive Scudetto with a 2-1 victory over Inter.
The Old Lady opened the score courtesy of Fabio Quagliarella just three minutes into the game. Inter responded with a strong run and neat finish by Rodrigo Palacio leveling the score after the break, though the running champions took the lead on the hour mark as Alessandro Matri fired home from a close range and made the final score 2-1. Inter substitute Esteban Cambiasso was shown a straight red card for a rash lunge on Sebastian Giovinco as the full time whistle sounded.
Milan expanded their unbeaten run to 12 Serie A games clinching three points in the match against Chievo. The game itself was played on a partly waterlogged surface, with both teams preferring to use long-distance shots to find the net, but eventually the only goal in the fixture was scored by Riccardo Montolivo who slid to fire home after Chievo goalkeeper Christian Puggioni split the free-kick by Mario Balotelli.
The most exciting match of the weekend was the clash between Napoli and Torino. The Swiss International Blerim Dzemaili scored a hat-trick to help the Naples-based side to earn three points as Torino tried their best to fight against the Italian giants and equalized the score twice, but in the end it was Napoli who took the win and moved two points ahead of AC Milan in second place.
