Serie A results: Juventus win Scudetto after a 1-0 win over Palermo

Juventus did just enough to see off the challenge of Palermo and claim the Serie A title for the second time in a row.

The Old Lady needed just a point to reclaim Scudetto, but Vidal earned his side a victory scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. Paul Pogba was sent off for an early shower for spitting with seven minutes to go. The nearest Bianconeri rivals Napoli beat Inter Milan 3-1 by courtesy of Cavani’s marvelous hat-trick, but with three games left the 11-point gap is impossible to bridge.

The result also saw Palermo dropping deeper in relegation peril, as relegation rivals Genoa managed to demolish bottom-dwelling Pescara 4-1 in a six-pointer to devoid them of any chances of survival. Palermo are sitting in the 18th place, three points off safety.

Elsewhere third-placed Milan made a step closer to their Champions League dream, as they capitalized on Fiorentina’s defeat at the hands of Roma with a narrow 1-0 win over Torino. Milan are currently four points clear of the fourth-placed Fiorentina.

Udinese retain chances of qualifying for Europa League following a 3-1 victory over Sampdoria.

Miroslav Klose scored five goals to help Lazio to a 6-0 victory over Bologna.
