Sevilla striker Negredo wants to leave the club, eyes move to Atletico Madrid
Sevilla’s prolific striker Alvaro Negredo has set his sights on leaving Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, according to club president Jose Maria del Nido.
Del Nido revealed earlier this month that the club has no urgent need for selling Negredo, as they have solved their financial problems after the big-money move of Jesus Navas to Manchester City. These comments came after Sevilla turned down West Ham’s bid of £14.5 million for highly-rated striker.
However it looks like the La Liga side is on the brink of losing Negredo, as the latter expressed the desire to test himself in the Champions League. At the moment Atletico Madrid are touted as the favourties to sign the player, who they are considering an ideal replacement to Radamel Falcao, after the Colombian joined Monaco.
And yet Sevilla are reluctant to sell the player to a rival club and are willing to listen to offers from the sides outside of La Liga. Del Nido said: “He has said he wants to develop and that he wants to play in the Champions League. One of the teams is Atletico Madrid and the other is outside of Spain.”
