Shakhtar Donetsk are yet to receive an official offer for Mkhitaryan from Liverpool

Shakhtar Donetsk have not received a formal offer for their star Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Liverpool, but they are prepared to listen to respectable offers, according to chief executive Sergei Palkin.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is seriously considering the possibility of signing the player, after he spent an outstanding season with the Ukrainian side. The 24-year-old Armenian particularly impressed with his prolificacy, after scoring 32 goals and setting up another 14 in all competitions last season.

Palkin revealed they are prepared to part ways with their midfielder for £22million. He said: “As you know, there have been too many different conversations about Henrik Mkhitaryan. But the situation has been strongly and artificially inflated. I can say that we have had no communication from any member of Liverpool.

“Henrikh is an important player in our team. Shakhtar want to keep him but we are willing to listen and consider all proposals for his transfer. We have already parted with Willian and Fernandinho but the club will not just sell players. Soon we will also strengthen ourselves with quality players, designed to replace those who have left,” he added.
