Shakhtar Fernandinho keen on Man City move
Shakhtar Donetsk star Fernandinho has openly revealed he would love to join Manchester City in the near future.
The Citizens’ boss Roberto Mancini expressed interest in landing the 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder, with the player admitting his desire and readiness to play for such an illustrious club at the highest level.
The player said he is determined to move to Etihad as this could improve his chances of being included into Brazil national team for 2014 World Cup. Fernandinho said: “I believe my chances of making the World Cup squad will improve if I join City. My exposure would be better, because Brazil is biased towards the Ukrainian league. What we do here is not recognised in my country. Playing in a division, at a club that is considered among the best in the world would help me get back in the Brazilian national team.
“There are a lot of people in England with good football knowledge. Those complement my skills and motivate me to want to play in the Premier League,” he added.
