Shevchenko to reconsider retirement to play for Indonesian side Mitra Kukar
Daily Mail informs that ex-Milan and Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko is seriously considering possibility of coming out of retirement to sign for the Indonesian side Mitra Kukar.
The 36-year-old Ukraine international has announced his retirement from football following EURO-2012. However after seeing his attempted career in politics stumble, he chose to reconsider his decision.
Shevchenko featured in the game between AC Milan legends and Indonesian All Stars XI, which took place in Jakarta last week. After watching Shevchenko in action Mitra Roni boss Fauzan as decided to open the talks over a possible deal with the Ukrainian forward.
He said: “obviously we’re interested in Shevchenko, but we have to continue to discuss this question, particularly the financial aspects. ‘Andriy has made clear that he is not against joining Mitra Kukar, but at the moment we don’t know how much he’ll be able to play. We’d like to invite Andrey for 10 games, but he apparently is happy to play no more than five times. The problem is about the duration he can play for Mitra Kukar. Regarding the contract fee, I think we can provide the funds, but we need to speak with the management.”
