Sion appoints Gattuso player-coach

The midfielder replaced Victor Munoz at the position.

After the Swiss side lost to Thun on Sunday, the club’s president Christian Constantin decided to demote the manager Victor Munoz to scouting job in the club and appoint Gennaro Gattuso a temporary player-coach.

”Until further notice, the players will manage their activities themselves. The management entrusts responsibility for the group to its captain Gennaro Gattuso,” reads the official statement of the side.

Gattuso does not have a coaching license and Munoz formally remain Sion manager. The Italian player will lead the team to Wednesday Swiss Cup fixture.
