Southampton Boruc clinched a new deal

Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2015.

The original Boruc’s deal was due to expire in summer, however the club has decided to reward the 33-year-old Poland international with a new contract for his impressive performances. Ex-Celtic stalwart has made 15 appearances this year and only two of them ended in defeat.

The goalkeeper revealed he is happy to extend his stay at St Mary’s. He said: “I am very pleased and I’m proud to be a part of a big project. As a club, I believe we can achieve a lot over the next two years, and I’m looking forward to that.

“The Premier League is probably the best place to play football and nothing has changed my mind on that since I came to Southampton. The new manager has changed a lot - we’re playing totally different football, and I think that football is quite nice to watch and quite effective,” he added.
