Southampton could lose Puncheon for nothing

Daily Mirror states Southampton risk losing their in-form winger Jason Puncheon for noithing as the club has postponed the contract negotiations with the player whose deal is due to expire in summer.

The 26-year-old Englishman has impressed the observers with the series of excellent performances this season. His six Premier League goals have fuelled the speculations that he on the course of leaving the club with Newcastle and West Ham are said to be the most likely destinations.

Puncheon himself is happy to stay at the club. However Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese does not wish to enter the contract negotiations with the player until the club’s Premier League safety is guaranteed.
