Stoke chase Birmingham Davies

Stoke chase Birmingham Davies

According to Daily Mirror Stoke City are hot on the trail of signing Birmingham centre-back Curtis Davies.

Stoke are believed to be interested in strengthening their back line following the departure of Matthew Upson.

Cash-strapped Birmingham were expected to sell their stars in January, however now it seems they could secure a takeover which puts them in healthy financial position. Birmingham owner Carson Yeung is in advanced talks with consortium of Hong Kong and Chinese businessmen.
That is why they have rejected the bids from both Norwich and Stoke for the Davies and will try to extend his contract which is due to expire in a year.
