Sturridge can be replaced in GB Olympic team

Great Britain coach Stuart Pearce notes that he will decide whether to replace the player or not by the end of the week.

One of the major Chelsea stars Daniel Sturridge that made 43 appearances in the season 2011/2012 and scored 13 goals fell ill at the beginning of the month with viral meningitis. The midfielder who was treated by the medical stuff of Chelsea and GB Olympic team recently told the press he would have recovered by the start of the Games.

Pearce still has time to choose the other player from one of four standby footballers.

The team of Great Britain will play against Senegal on 26 July, United Arab Emirates on 29 July and Uruguay on 1 August.
