Swansea agreed terms with Lyon forward Gomis

Swansea have launched a bid in the region of €14 million for highly-rated Lyon forward Bafetimbi Gomis, according to the Ligue 1 side.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed Lyon have received a formal offer for the 27-year-old France international. The Ligue 1 side may be forced to part ways with their valuable asset as they are looking to balance the books, despite Gomis’ reluctance to move out of France. Cash-strapped Lyon have already sold their starlet Anthony Martial to Monaco and Gomis is the next in the queue.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said: “I had the feeling and I was even almost sure we could have convinced Bafe [to leave]. The Swansea chairman came to Lyon to sign the commitment and we checked the offer was superior to what Bafe earns at Lyon.”

“It has become a behaviour problem more than a sporting problem. I could not imagine he would go against his own interests,” he added.
