Swansea prepared to splash the cash in summer

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins revealed the club hierarchy has agreed on the list of possible transfer targets to be chased in summer.

Although they have missed out on several players in January, Jenkins believes Swansea could complete the moves for the players they want in summer. Chairman is determined that the club needs to bring quality players in a bid to raise the club’s status and fight for the European spots next season. “Michael and I looked weeks ago at what we felt we need to do in January and one of the things he wanted sooner rather than later was to sign Roland Lamah. We got that done as early as we could, and there were one or two other things which we worked on behind the scenes.”

“Ideally we might have got the players in during January, but in a couple of cases the players who we felt were right for us wanted to stay with their current clubs until the summer. Hopefully, when the transfer window opens again, we can get things done quickly. Hopefully we can make sure we get our squad together before our pre-season trip - that’s our aim,” – added Jenkins.

With the departure of Danny Graham chairman believes the signing of another striker should be the priority for the club. “I think nearly every club who are aiming to compete at the top end of the Premier League will be looking for forwards who can add something different.”
