Thiago Alcantara follows former coach Pep Guardiola

Bayern Munich have added another midfield option to their squad after signing Spain U-21 international Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona.

“Thiago Alcantara was the great wish of our new coach Pep Guardiola,” Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
“We are delighted that we have been able to seal this great transfer,” added the former Bayern and Germany player.
“He is a fantastic player with great promise who will strengthen FC Bayern.”

Thiago has long been on a transfer list linked with some of Europeant giants and Manchester United in particular but opted to join his former coach Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

The reported transfer fee is £21.6m.
