Top 5 European matches to watch this weekend

Top 5 European matches to watch this weekend

On the continent, some of really fine matches are played this weekend.

Roma v Napoli
Serie A leaders meet at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Friday. Roma have so far conceded just one goal in seven matches and Rafael Benitez needs to work out his best tactics to break Rudi Garcia’s solid defence. However, Napoli have also won all of their matches except for a misfire against Sassuolo.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis claimed: “Millions of people around the world will watch the match. Napoli have never been afraid of anyone because we have a great coach and great players. I think the scudetto will be three-horse race, although I hope others such as Inter Milan and Fiorentina can join it.”

Twente v Ajax
The leaders Twente host champions Ajax, who are just one point behind them in the table. Twente have not lost a match since 25 August and have improved drastically under an interim manager Michel Jansen. Ajax will keep in mind the Tuesday visit to Glasgow for a tough test against Celtic.

Zenit v CSKA Moscow
The Russian champions CSKA have been in stalemate and it’s been over a month that they last won in domestic championship. In-form Zenit, by contrast, won their last 6 matches in the Russian Premier League and scored an average three goals in those victories. However, both clubs struggle in the Champions League this season.

Porto v Sporting
The leaders of the Portuguese Primeira Liga meet at Estádio do Dragão on Sunday. Both clubs are yet to lose this season and if Porto are the common title contenders, Sporting have impressed under the new manager Leonardo Jardim.

Real Madrid v Malaga
The result might be well-predicted in advance, but still this match will definitely be the pick in the Spanish La Liga. The world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale is set to make a return after back treatment and will be hungry for goals. Galacticos’ performance has hardly impressed this season and they have a lot to prove ahead of next week clashes with Juventus and Barcelona.
