Tottenham chase Hamburg’s Son Heung-Min
Tottenham have opened the talks with Hamburg over the potential summer move for a South Korean star Son Heung-Min.
The 21-year-old in-demand striker is considered by the Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas as an ideal replacement to Welsh ace Gareth Bale, should he make a switch to Real Madrid. Son Heung-Min enters the final year of his contract and could be available for a cut-price £10-million deal, as German side is looking to add several new players out of the proceeds from the sale of the South Korean.
Tottenham will face stern competition from the side of Liverpool, who have been closely monitoring the development of the player over the last several months.
Player’s agent Thies Bliemeister revealed his impressive performances have drawn the attention of host of European clubs, however stated he is unlikely to move next summer. He said: ‘A transfer in the next summer? He has signed a new contract with Hamburg SV extending it for one year, but there have been many offers for him as from Manchester United and Chelsea. Inter Milan’s scouts saw a couple of his matches, but so far I have not had any contact with the Italian club’s officials.
