Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City head towards the Europa League group stage

Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur each scored 5 times against their respective opponents Petrolul (Romania) and Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia) to all but secure participation in the group stage of the Europa League.

Routledge brace was accompanied by goals from Michu, Bony and Pozuelo while an own goal from Petrolul goalkeeper added to the misery of Romanian squad. A consolation goal from Grozav minutes before the final whistle would hardly help Petrolul progress into the final stage.

The Spurs come back from Georgia with a 5 goals advantage and the return leg at White Hart Lane next week becomes a mere formality.

Andros Townsend excelled with a goal and two assists while the Spanish forward Soldado scored a brace. Paulinho and Danny Rose added to the hosts’ humiliation.
