Tottenham maintain perfect start in Europa League. Swansea held by Kuban Krasnodar.

Tottenham Hotspur have all but qualified for Europa League play-off after a third straight win in the group over Sheriff Tiraspol courtesy of Jan Vertonghen early header and Jermain Defoe goal fifteen minutes from time. The Moldovan side were close to equalizing soon after The Spurs took the lead but Vlad Chiriches made a superb clearing. Andre Villas-Boas’ side have not conceded a single goal in the tournament and are five points clear from Anzhi Makhachkala ahead of the home match against Tiraspol that might secure qualification.

Swansea City looked set to get three points against Kuban Krasnodar after Michu goal but a lapse in concentration saw them concede a penalty from Djibril Cisse in the dying time. Disappointe Michael Laudrup will be looking for away win in Russia to secure progression.

Wigan Athletic shared a draw with another Russian club Rubin Kazan. Alexander Prudnikov opened the scoring on 15 minutes and Nick Powell levelled 5 minutes before the break.
