Tottenham set to make Negredo switch

According to Daily Mail Tottenham are in the advanced stage of talks with Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido over a £15million move for striker Alvaro Negredo.

Sevilla have publicly dismissed the rumors that the aim of Del Nido’s trip to England was to reach an agreement as regards Negredo’s swoop. However unnamed sources at Sevilla have acknowledged that the 27-year-old Spaniard is keen on a switch to Premier League and the club in turn would like to cash in on their talent. Consequently the move would suite the both sides’ interests.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is said to be determined to sign another forward after Adebayor’s decision to take part in African Nations Cup has left him with Jermaine Defoe as the only striker.

Sportsmail states that Negredo is looking for a four-year deal worth of around £70,000 per week. Although Negredo was thought to be on the top of Chelsea’s shopping list, the Blues have cooled their interest after the completing Demba Ba’s transfer.
