Tottenham set to offload Adebayor

Tottenham are looking to part ways with misfiring striker Emmanuel Adebayor, in their effort of reducing their wage bill by selling costly players.

Despite a lot of teams said to be interested in services of the 29-year-old Togo international, his high wage demands of around £100,000-a-week could be a major stumbling block. Free-spending Monaco, who have recently won promotion to Ligue 1 and hope to compete PSG, are considered to be the main contenders for the players’ signature.

Adebayor failed to regain last-season’s impressive goal scoring-form, when he netted 17 goals in 33 appearances while being on loan from Man City. Ade managed to find the net just three times in 21 first-team starts this season, making Andre Villas-Boas think that the decision of signing the striker on a permanent basis was an erroneous one.

With Tottenham seriously considering the possibility of signing Damiao, Adebayor looks destined to be moving away from White Hart Lane.
