UEFA announced candidates for best player in Europe award

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi lead in the list of Best Player award.

The long list was presented by the governing body today and included a total of 7 Real Madrid representatives, while Manchester City was presented by 4 and Barcelona only by 3 players.

The most surprising nomination is Leslie Davies that plays in the Welsh Premier League for Bangor club. The player confessed that he was honoured when he heard the news. Davies said it was fantastic even to be nominated alongside those top players.

The list of the players was formed according to journalists’ choice. Voters from all around Europe submitted five candidates creating the slate of 32-man. Later the list will be reduced to three players and the winner will be chosen in Monaco on 30 August.
