UEFA Champions League group stage lineup
This week’s ten playoff winners will proceed to the group stage.
CFR 1907 Cluj overwhelmed FC Basel 1893 and reach the UEFA Champions League group stage with 3-1 aggregate lead. Pantelis Kapetanos’s header helped the Romanian side to succeed in the second leg and that is their third group stage in five years.
Celtic booked their place in the group stage with a 4-0 aggregate victory. Gary Hooper and Victor Wanyama’s goasl in both halves resulted in a 2-0 second-leg win over Helsingborgs IF.
FC Spartak Moskva claimed a 1-1 draw in the away match against Fenerbahçe SK and thanks to their home victory the Russian side ensured a 3-2 aggregate win.
Ideye Brown’s late goal secured a narrow 4-3 aggregate victory for FC Dynamo Kyiv, though their second leg game finished 1-2 loss to VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach.
LOSC Lille claimed a narrow 2-1 win over FC København. It was Túlio De Melo’s header in extra-time that helped the French side to enter the group stage.
The 2012/13 UEFA Champions League group stage lineup is completed. The clubs who succeeded from the playoff stage will meet 22 automatic entrants. The draw takes place from 17.45CET on Thursday at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum. The 32 entrants were split into four seeding pots, based on club coefficients, each group contains one team from each tier. A team cannot meet a club from their own football association.
